Re-branding of all sister sites under WorldCarFans.com name
New Category - European Cars
After one year of delays we have finally completed the European car category. Containing 36 major and specialty manufacturers, you can count on WorldCarFans.com to deliver the timeliest news and photos much the same as our American, German and Japanese categories. Some of the manufacturer pages are a bit light with material, but rest assured they will fill up quickly in the coming months.
Say goodbye to AmericanCarFans, GermanCarFans and JapaneseCarFans
We had received some feedback from visitors and came to the realization that having content categories branded as separate web sites under different domain names was confusing. As a result, we simplified the branding of the pages to represent one name, WorldCarFans.com. The sister sites, AmericanCarFans.com, JapaneseCarFans.com and GermanCarFans.com were re-named and positioned as major content categories under the WorldCarFans.com umbrella. With the complexity of 75 car manufacturers being represented you'll soon discover that the navigation is slightly more efficient.
Despite the changing of the domain names, the content categories (i.e. German Cars, Japanese Cars, and American Cars) still function the same as their predecessor "CarFans" sites but now benefit from all of the new features. You don't have to update your bookmarks or links. Everything still works the same.
New Front Pages & Headlines Calendar
With such a large flow of news breaking every day - we desperately needed a new front page design that could keep pace. As a result, our new front page system organizes the daily flow of news in a way that is quickly viewable as well as entertaining. You can expect to see the front page with a fresh new look almost every day.
With content that is changing so frequently, it's very easy to miss some stories. Our solution was to provide an easy access method for visitors to quickly view older updates on a day-by-day basis with the use of a calendar. Located on the WorldCarFans.com front page as well as each of the sub-categories main pages for American, European, German and Japanese cars, you will find the calendar in the top right corner. Simply click a date to view the headlines and other stories for that day.
RSS and Newsletter updates
The WorldCarFans.com newsletter is currently under construction. But you can sign up now! We will keep your email address on file until the newsletter is operational and you will automatically begin to receive updates. We anticipate having the newsletter operating in the next few weeks. We will make an announcement on the WorldCarFans.com main page as well as the WCF newsletter sign up page.
Another fast and efficient way of staying current with the latest WorldCarFans.com updates is through our new RSS news feed. Currently the RSS feed is only available for all WorldCarFans.com updates. Just point your RSS reader to: http://www.worldcarfans.com/rss/rss.xml
Motor Shows Section
International Motor Shows are the high points of the year with the auto manufacturers unveiling their latest models and designs. Undoubtedly, across the 75 manufacturers WorldCarFans.com covers, the amount of flowing news is huge. As a result, we created a section where all WorldCarFans.com updates related to an International Motor Show can be viewed in one easy-access web page.
Future Plans
Currently reaching over 1 million absolute visitors per month from around the globe WorldCarFans.com remains one of the top English language web sites for auto enthusiast. Future plans include improving our server infrastructure to improve page load speeds particularly for Europe, Asia, Middle East and South Pacific. We will also strive to improve editorial quality with more super-car test drives, live International Motor Show coverage (starting this month in Geneva) and hopefully a new video section towards the end of the year.
As always, we love to hear from you. Please send us an email and let us know what you think - good or bad. No matter what the response we appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for visiting!
WorldCarFans.com Team,
Bien, Frank and Brian
