Nissan Livina Geniss World Premiere at Guangzhou Int Motor Show
Press Release
First variant of Nissan global cars
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., and Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company jointly announced today that they would exhibit a total of nine Nissan models at the upcoming Guangzhou International Motor Show starting July 25. The models will include concept cars, imported cars and locally produced vehicles, demonstrating Nissan’s commitment to the fast growing Chinese market.
The cars will highlight Nissan’s "Driving Pleasure” and "Modern Living” concepts. "Driving Pleasure" delivered from Nissan's advanced technologies refers to Nissan's philosophy that all vehicles should be enjoyable to drive regardless of their market segment. "Modern Living," is a new Nissan concept that stresses advanced design value in cabins.
The show will be the world premier of Livina Geniss, the first variant of a new family of Nissan global cars and the first Nissan car ever to be released in China ahead of other global markets. Powered by the all-new Nissan MR18DE engine, this flexible and spacious model is based on the concept of a luxurious, yet practical vehicle.
The exhibit will also feature the new, premium-class sedan Sylphy, which will be produced by Nissan’s joint venture Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., and go on sale in China on August 24. The Sylphy is equipped with Nissan’s all new MR20DE engine and Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission), which results in improved fuel-efficiency, quick response and smooth and powerful acceleration.
Also on display - the 350Z, Nissan’s true sports car, which will go on sale in China later this year. With a heritage dating back more than 35 years to the original 1969 Fairlady Z in Japan, the 350Z expresses the soul of Nissan. Since its global launch in 2002, the vehicle has sold more than 200,000 units thanks to its high performance, design and high value.
Other attraction at the show will be Amenio, a concept car which debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. Besides, displayed vehicles will also include the luxury Fuga sedan and the premium Quest MPV which are both imported into China; the locally-produced new Teana luxury sedan, Tiida sedan and Tiida Hatchback.
Located in Hall No. 2, the Nissan booth will cover a total area of 2,030 square meters.
Nissan will also hold a Nissan Safety Driving Forum (NSDF) outside the exhibition hall during the motor show to promote its Safety Shield concept to Chinese consumers. Under the Safety Shield concept, which Nissan unveiled in 2004, the driver is viewed as key to improved safety when it comes to helping to prevent an accident from occurring. Nissan's focus is on how the company can best support the driver with technology that helps him or her avoid an accident or minimizes damage in case of a crash.
