The new 2009 Mitsubishi Galant took a bow at the Chicago Auto Show earlier today.  A new front end, and all-around improved styling, is featured on all four trim levels of the midsize sedan.

For the 2009 model year, the Galant will come as a four-cylinder ES, a new four-cylinder Sport Edition, the Sport V6, and the Galant Ralliart.  The four bangers are 160 horsepower 2.4 liter MIVEC engines, while the V6 is a 230 horsepower 3.8 liter V6.  Sportronic automatc transmission is standard on the ES and the Sport Edition, while the Sport V6 gets a five speed manual transmission.

The Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart features a 258 horsepower 3.8 liter MIVEC V6 with the five speed manual as standard.  This edition goes 0-60mph in six seconds, and comes with a specially-tuned Ralliart sport suspension, 18-inch alloys, and other "luxury features."

Each 2009 Galant comes standard with anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, and eight airbags.  Traction control comes standard on the Sport V6 and the Galant Ralliart.  On the outside, new taillights, new fenders, and a clean grille help to sharpen the looks on this normally-bland sedan.

The new 2009 Mitsubishi Galant will be on display throughout the Chicago Auto Show, and will hit American showroom floors in the near future.
