Leaked Hyundai i35 Coupe Photo
We received this photo, believed to be of the production version of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Concept, from an anonymous source recently. While we can not 100% verify its authenticity, reps for Hyundai refused to deny that it is an accurate representation.
Believed to be called the Hyundai i35 Coupe, the toned down version of the Sonic Orange colored concept car should descend upon dealerships during spring 2009. The car will get a 3.8 liter V6 engine rated at over 300 horsepower, with 250 ft-lb of torque, and attached to a six-speed manual transmission. 0-60 mph times could be less than six seconds. We previously reported that the 2+2 rear-wheel-drive coupe is separate to the front-wheel-drive Tiburon replacement.
Despite having toned-down headlights, no heat extractors on the hood, and no hot girl standing next to the car, the prospective Hyundai i35 Coupe still looks good. We would have liked to have seen the production version maintain the concept's more chiseled side and front styling, but (assuming this is a real photo) this was likely not a realistic option for engineers. One thing that does give us pause is that Hyundai originally said a factory model of the Genesis Coupe Concept would have three slats at the front to assist engine cooling. Remnants of this can be seen at the fog lights, but not in the oversized grille.
We like the five-spoke alloys on the car in this photo, similar to those on the concept, but we are unsure of the wheel size. With deliveries of this car originally planned for early next year, production of an alleged Hyundai i35 Coupe would begin this year. And that means this photo may be the real deal.
everybody have to copy the audi's singleframe and put it everywhere?
I really don't see how they are copying audi's grill anymore then any other car with a single center grill. If anything it looks slightly more like a 300c grill.
It's definitely fake...look at how the left taillight is higher than the right one. Plus, we already saw leaked photos a while back. Sorry, this ain't the real deal.
Er, I can't see the right tail light on the supposed production car...
kk to the smart*ss above me (bristol411s3) CLEARLY "ZSHEPS" means the front lights stop trying to be smart and demean people for a word error
This is most likely fake. Although good, there are some perspective (look at side mirror for start) things wrong with it and most professional people who render would not use the 2007 sonata wheels. Although it is semi-nice design it is to spliced together
Yeah looks really fake. The things in the grille are totally horizontal while the nose doesn't faces the camera directly
It looks like they used the profile of the R8 front end. Look at the headlights, they are missing the LED's but are the same shape as the R8 as whe;; as the two arches in the hood aver the lights. The rear quarter panels are from a Astin Martin and the Mirror is placed at a bad angle. Plus there isn't the dip in the quarter glass that Hyundai said was one of their design cues. Definately a fake.
def looks fake. Its like a Lexus IS and Infiniti G35 combo hence the "i35"
fake, or not, this going to be one sweet friggin hyundai.. especially for the $$ c'mon guys, think of the usual cars hyundai has ALWAYS sold...
PIMP MY RIDE + Overhouling and all that cr*py shows...the result this XD, at least the orange one, the black looks like Jag nose....
TM law please....no imagination once more
K, considering where Hyundai has come from, this is an amazing car! V6, RWD, "300HP", c'mon... plus its a sexy yet aggressive little car, with a sports package and a nice clean interior, this is a direct 300z competitor and a 240SX replacement!
Yeah, I saw this image a while back; it's just an old chop, and not a very good representation of the production vehicle. C'mon, ya'll! Don't you remember the Chicago car clinic spy shots from a few months back? THAT was the real deal.
I was quite shocked and dissapointed with this pic, thinking that this was the real deal. But I think this is fake fortunately. Yeah this doesn't look together overall in the photo.. Something doesn't seem right. Hyundai emblem seems stuck on. And the fake sonata wheels... The headlights look like this o_O
Look carefully and you'll see the head lights aren't even aligned, although its supposedly on a flat surface. The front grille isnt' aligned properly with the angle it is being shot at. The wheels are obviously ps'd as they are out of focus (blurry), and don't match with the resolution of the other parts of the car. Finally, the front skirt isn't aligned either. Very poorly done, unless this was a fast chop.
funky ride... i heard this was a really heavy car?? under 6 seconds?? i don't know i bet this car can go much faster with 300 hp doesn't the current 3 series come with 300 hp as well?
To view images of an actual pre-production vehicle, type "Hyundai RWD Genesis sports coupe Uncovered" in the search box. It should be the first article that comes up.
I do not care if it's fake or not but this design is very good infact it doesn't look Audish but a bit of Jaguar and Bently GT grill. Give credit where it's due coz i say that this a a much better grill design and lights to the 3 german marques grills.
i retract my statement coz it's a Hyundai but the germans are really starting to get a beating on design cues lately.
this is an old chop from winding road. the production version has already been uncovered in a consumer survey.
i think it is fake. from what i have read and seen, the production version will stay fairly true to the concept in its overall design, minus some of the showcar details
this is a fake picture from couple of month ago..
i wonder if it will in fact be called the i35... hmmm interesting
Audi is copying Hyundai's concept cars....

I do hope this is a fake because if this is what the replacement for the tiburon, I may decide to rethink about purchasing the car when it comes out.
The whole front clip is aweful, the large intage and the the headlight ruin it for me. I prefer to see a production version closer to the concept, particalury the headlights
