Holden is working on unleashing its might on Australian roads as it revealed the HSV W427 at the Melbourne Motor Show. The HSV – Holden Special Vehicles – will be the fastest standard road car to ever come out of Australia, and will probably be one of the quickest globally as well. Unconfirmed power figures put the W427 at over 370kW and 640Nm of torque. Such numbers are seen only in saloons like BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Many thanks to Corvette’s 7.0-litre LS7 power plant.

To better utilize the power, a limited slip diff will be used in conjunction with a new high-strength 6-speed manual shifter.

The car receives GM product’s Magnetic Ride suspension which helps adapt the car to current road conditions for optimum handling. A number of exterior enhancements such as carbon fiber rear spoiler, 20-inch wheels and a new front fascia.

What a tribute Australia’s original “muscle car” which turned 20 years old today.

oh where do I start..... given it has some great power, the body styling is really over done for a salon car. Rims don't match the car, headlights look like they come from the early 90's and what does everybody think they can create a front bumper that looks like a R35.

Well... The Aussies doing what they do... pouring more and more grunty yank engines into cheaply made cars that go pretty well. Of course it won't have the finesse of a BMW M anything or a Mercedes AMG 6.3, but it won't cost as much either (I assume).

A more intelligent Holden show car would have a grunty turbo diesel with 1000Nm of torque from 800rpm and 8l/100km fuel consumption. C'mon you great steaming gallahs... get with the zeitgeist!

I am a fan of Holden. Surely you can not really compare there qualities to german upper class cars, but they do a great job for making cars very interesting. btw like the pictures from the moon *lol

This car is exclusive to australia(unless there's something i don't know), an approximate amount of about 100 will be sold. approximate price will be about +$120,000 AUSD

To be honest, i expected this car to look better(especially that front bumper)..

This is a proper muscle car that will match the new Dodge Challenger and the new Chevrolet Camaro.

The V8 engine is a super engine powerful in a massive car but with lots of grunt and the style of walkinshaw is sensational with hi quality interior dvd player and will be the best australian car ever made and u can compre this to european style cars.
