Just yesterday Nissan was kind enough to release a few teaser images of the seventh generation Maxima, but now courtesy of the web that is all over the world and extremely wide, we have the first full resolution shots ahead of its planned unveiling at the New York Auto Show tomorrow.

Ever since the Maxima was first introduced in1976, each new model has had a short lifespan of around 4 years (give or take a year). So Considering the current model has been on the market since 2004, we can put to bed any previous rumours that the 2009 Maxima will be a major facelift, what you see here is the all new model.

Full details, more high resolution press shots and of course live shots of our own will be released tomorrow when the 4-door sports car is unveiled, be sure to come back and check them out.

mmmm....not too sure about the front end. grille is very bland and the hood shutline is pure Infiniti, headlights also look heavy handed. i thought the Intima at tokyo would be a pointer for the Maxima. obviouly not

that car makes me remember the NISSAN GTR it looks good ... but without soul..actually its more beautiful than the ALTIMA

by blaconque | March 18, 2008 11:16 PM
"the hood shutline is purely Infiniti"..you know that Nissan owns Infiniti, and whatever Infiniti does has gone through Nissan first.

by MB.65 | March 20, 2008 6:31 AM
i hope this is a fake pic... those front headlights are nasty!! whats with that random but jutting out from the sides?? the rear is nice though... however.... id take the present maxima over this exterior wise!! :)

by carcrazy1234 | March 18, 2008 2:19 PM
good try.... actually i like this better than the old one

by The_woo_factor | March 18, 2008 2:27 PM
that headlight is truly ugly. I don't like it at all. The back is fine though

by wirelesscoyote | March 18, 2008 2:49 PM
It`s all ugly...Cheap look`n...I hope Toyota have a better come back with the Avalon..I HOPE!!

by iseenitall | March 18, 2008 3:39 PM

by desiathate | March 18, 2008 3:43 PM

by wjaprep | March 18, 2008 9:37 PM

by wjaprep | March 18, 2008 9:38 PM
ALSO WITH THOSE LIGHTS WATCH NISSAN GET SOME GOOD RATINGS IN THE SAFELY REVIEW!! COMEON PEOPLE OPEN UR EYES

by desiathate | March 18, 2008 3:44 PM
I don't get how the style of lights will depict nissan's safety review.

by Joe_Limon | March 18, 2008 5:15 PM
1. why do u speak in such huge writing?? 2. u speak like ur 2... i quote "...good ratings in the SAFELY review" 3. shut up!!!! (all directed towards desiathate)

by carcrazy1234 | March 18, 2008 11:58 PM
the front somehow reminds me of the new accord, the side is hyundai elantra.. look at that shoulder lines. n the back looks like an enlarges toyota yaris.

by michelin901 | March 18, 2008 5:39 PM
a pity they didnt define the rear as a neat 3-box sedan, it's just messy, short and vulgar.. in contrast, the front end might not be beautiful but it's really original and FRESH, despite that infiniti hood and audi a5 inspired sensusous side bulges

by ck314 | March 18, 2008 5:51 PM
sensuous even

by ck314 | March 18, 2008 5:56 PM
say what? lool hate me ... I LOVE IT. Just so dramatic design, newest thing out there/

by tiguy2000 | March 18, 2008 6:26 PM
I like it

by Indykat | March 18, 2008 6:37 PM
The dashboard looks pure Infiniti. I like that its not just another basic-looking design, but, I need to see it in person. It would also be great if they went rear drive with the Maxima!

by 4rings | March 18, 2008 7:55 PM
I cant put my finger on it, but somthing about the car screams volvo to me...

by wjaprep | March 18, 2008 9:39 PM
Damn! Was up with those lights? This car is even uglier than a Lada 4x4 come on Nissan, you can do better than that!!!. The Nissan Teana looks better

by sebastianmejia17 | March 18, 2008 9:51 PM
I'm gonna stick my neck out and say I think the lights are interesting and quite cool, and that combined with the muscular sides its an unusual and handsome car. come on you guys, one minute you're slating the far eastern companies for lack of originality and then something a bit unusual and you lay into that : p

by joelynn | March 18, 2008 10:11 PM
FWD FTL...horrible

by unknown | March 18, 2008 10:30 PM
you obviously don't live in a cold country.

by Joe_Limon | March 18, 2008 11:57 PM
did the designer fall asleep while designing the lights??

by brocky | March 19, 2008 12:34 AM
wierd "eyes" too scuare the grill also the nose and the back...riski designe but not bad, mabye they must work more on the designe

by _M7_ | March 19, 2008 1:46 AM
yeah....i concur, i'm not sure if they are trying to emulate the GTR, but for angular angry designs, you gots to think trapazoids....trapazoids...overall though, it adheres to nissan's current design theme: paunchy...some might say muscular, but protein shakes ain't the only way to get buff...

Listen ... ass!! every year cars get rated by JD to see how well they are on daily base life and so on ... one area of judgment is are easy it is to see the drivers intentions does the car give to other drives like //can u see from the left side of the driver is going to turn right and so on... Listen ass i am studying in automotive design ...so these little things matter .. who are u to tell me shut up!

apparently car crazy is only 17....which makes his momma....god i won't go there. he's just a youngin...its a temporal hormonal madness up there...

by []V[]orbid[]V[]an | March 19, 2008 10:29 PM
i belive this car is good,,,,think when the bmw introduced 5 and 7 series........most of the car fans said bangle butt.but today????new c-class is really nice but many says its ugly rear end. i think this one needs time to accept by carfans.

by DESIGNERr | March 19, 2008 8:19 PM
Not every car that has sketchy design features is accepted down the road. Just because something is odd now, doesn't mean I will like it in time. Think of some of the horrible designs that are still considered horrible...there are tons of them. In my opinion, the lights are not nice at all, and I don't think time will change that. They're taking risks, I'll give them that...

by bmwer | March 20, 2008 1:21 AM
Sorry friends! I like this car(except its rear bumper)

by mhamini | March 20, 2008 3:57 AM
for god's sake! this car looks ghastly! :o)

by odysseus | March 20, 2008 9:39 PM
