Alfa Romeo Boss Confirms SUV by 2010
In an interview with Auto Motor & Sport, Alfa Romeo CEO Luca de Meo confirms that Alfa is readying an SUV for the Italian marque. Because if Alfa Romeo wants to be a global player rather than a Euro-brand they need an SUV in the line-up.
The entire Alfa range will see some changes over the next few years, starting with this year's Mi.To, to be followed in 2009 by a new 147 and then in 2010 Alfa Romeo hopes to launch their first SUV, internally referred to as CX-over. The new SUV could be based on the 2003 Kamal Concept.
Furthermore, the Italian marque wants to start offering a start-stop-system by 2009/2010 to appease the green lobby, but Luca de Meo said that Alfa will not become a Eco-brand. Alfa may leech some hybrid technologies from mother company Fiat in the future.
The fourth picture... eerily similar to the Porsche Cayenne.
Looks like an Infiniti FX35 with an Alfa Romeo nose. Not so sure about this one...
why offer an suv now?? aren't there market going down?? and gas prices going up?? seriously now... invest in an economical way not a retarded way.
it looks nice, front end reminds me the Subaru Tribeca SUV, 90% same ..alfa should make it by next year ...
hahahaha this is, by far, the ugliest Alfa I have ever had the inopportune luck to ever lay my eyes on. Everything about it is wrong! They shouldn't even fire the designer, they should fire the guy who gave approval for the design.
i thought that alfas were suposed to have style... that is like the only reason u buy an alfa wat is the point of buyn this one thn???
