There is still less than one month to go until the Exiga makes its official debut in Japan on June 17, but spy photographers have caught it nearly uncovered in the thick forests of Northern California. Subaru released a handful of Exiga teasers late last week, but none show the body details as well as these photos captured yesterday. Based on the Tokyo Motor Show Concept, the aggressively styled touring wagon will sport seven seats with a panoramic roof which extends all the way back to the C-pillar. The Exiga measures larger than the current Outback and rather close to that of the Tribeca. We expect to see the 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine as one of the engine options. Rumors are already spreading of an STi version but no evidence has surfaced, yet

Strange but sexy , love the colour , really does look like that mitsubishi ralliart estate wagon - which didnt sell that well.

It looks really old fashoined, 1980's and boxy. This is just going to ruin Subaru almost as much as the new Impreza

yeahh subaru's styling has gone down hill lately especially after the impreza, nd the tribeca is dull nd plain now...

Well, Subaru has been known to be slightly quirky with their designs. When the Outback first came out, it was regarded as a strange car and now look at it. One of the highest selling wagons in several countries. I actually like this design, It resembles the current Legacy/Liberty/Outback

It's been easy to bash Subaru's new styling direction as bland and unimaginative, but at least now the range looks somewhat cohesive; the previous generation of Impreza/Legacy/Forester/Tribeca where so incongruous in their designs they looked as though they were produced by four different companies, on at least three different continents. Now that the lineup all seems to be moving in one direction, perhaps a real indentity can develop in subsequent developments.

Personally, I like the Exiga. I think it offers something more practical and unique than the mainstream Forester and Tribeca SUV's. I'm just sorry it's a Japan-only model. It would have been a likely replacemnt for my '05 Legacy wagon, when that time comes.
