Adding onto the most recent Cayenne diesel information from last week, Audi will supply the Cayenne most likely with their 3.0-liter TDI V6 diesel engine producing 240hp starting next March. According to Automotive News Europe, the Cayenne and updated Boxster were supposed to be unveiled in January 2009 together, but Porsche decided to postpone the Cayenne's presentation and not crowd the Boxster, since sales have been slow. An exclusive debut could give the entry-level roadster added exposure.

Porsche is seeking controlling interest in VW...at present they have less than a majority stake and the German government is preventing them from taking control of VW . VW owns Bentley, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda and Audi. Audi owns Lamborghini.

Porsche owns 30,9% of VW. I think Porsche is still privately owned by Porsche family. But it's funny because Porsche has round 12.000 and VW 330.000 employers. Porsche produces up to 100.000 vehicles and VW 6.300.000 per year. But Porsche earns on average up to 30.000? per car and VW round 2.000? per car. I'm not 100% sure that I got the numbers right but it should be somthing similar.

and why not the V8 4.2? 240 hp, is it enough for a Porsches? 326 hp, isn't it better?

it's about fuel economy - not about performance

Porsche will definitely upgrade the engine to at least 280 to 300 PS. A more sporty setup should be expected. As for the V8 TDI, why not the V10 TDI from Touareg R50 with even more horsepower then? :) 400 Ps/1000 Nm should do the work!!!

If I buy a Porsche, I want a Porsche engine.
