Roush have announced the new TVS2300 ROUSHcharger, giving all owners of the 2005-2009 Mustang GT the possibility to pump up the power up to 700 horsepower. The new supercharger was first presented to us at the SEMA show last year in the P-51A Mustang, the model had a limited production run of just 100 units but this release shows the American tuning house is looking to offer it to the wider market.

The kit includes a cold air intake system, unique fuel rail with 52 lb.-hr. injectors, a dual 60 mm electronic throttle body, all hardware, brackets and instructions. On its own it will only boost the power output to 510hp but with a little help from custom tuners, consumers can look forward to nearly 200 extra horsepower flowing through to the wheels of the Mustang GT

"The gloves are off for the specialty tuners to get really creative with a ROUSHcharger® now," said Joe Thompson, general manager of ROUSH® Performance.  "We’re excited to see what some of these guys can do with the new TVS2300 ROUSHcharger® and really explore the type of performance that this new unit is capable of.  We’ve heard some numbers from a couple of exploratory installs already and I must say that they are very impressive."

The new TVS2300 ROUSHcharger is available for $5,899, owners of the existing ROUSHcharger system looking to upgrade can get it slightly cheaper at $4,999.

Its very good, But superchargers are limited on Maximum power and their top end is a bit inferior to a twin-turbo set-up. However it all depends on your Budget, supercharger set-ups are cheaper and Roush is a name you can trust, NASCAR.

Whats funny to me is that Americans use mainly superchargers and the Japanses use turbos. This should be the other way around. The Americans have a crazy amount of torque but lack HP they should get, and the Jap's have crazy amounts of HP and lack torque. A supercharger in a Jap car would give the car the initial tourque to do better off the line. American cars should get a turbo and they will do better off of the line because of turbo lag and preventing the rush of tourque off of the line.

A turbo'd american muscle car wouldn't be as effective, higher rpms=better for turbo, that being said a jap car with a supercharger would lose out because it has to give up some of its already limited torque to drive the belt.

o ok. thats y the only jap car ive seen supercharged is a G35 because it has a good amount of tourque.

I dont know about that Joe. A turbo Muscle engine can work, but you need to get it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing otherwise its gonna run like crap. Its all in the engine/turbo tuning.

exactly, what do you think doing the tuning does? For the most part you replace parts that can accommodate faster rev speeds so that way you can get the most out of your turbo. Otherwise having a turbo that kicks in at 5000rpm for a car with a 6000rpm rev limiter is pointless.

Having tested a standard mustang coupe i think there could be alot of better things to improve first before horsepower.
