More Powerful KTM X-Bow set to be Unveiled at British Motor Show?
Famed motorcycle manufacturer KTM made their first venture into the 4-wheel market with the X-Bow roadster, it started off with the Dallara series which had a very limited production run of just 100 units. The high demand for the vehicle saw the manufacturer then produce a full production version that would target up to 1000 sales per year. When this announcement was made, they already had a backlog of 600 orders to complete so it comes as little surprise that an even more powerful version is in the pipelines and rumours state it could be set for its worldwide debut at the British Motor Show next week.
Power is set to come from Audi's 261hp 2.0-liter FSI engine that is currently employed in the sporty S3. Additionally the X-bow is set to get an optional full height windscreen and removable hard-top which will enhance the day to day usability of the vehicle.
According to reports, KTM also has plans to increase its single model portfolio with a new low cost city car and even an SUV.
Nice... maybe the new KTM will rock the FIA GT4 a little bit more... Some X-Bow pics from the FIA GT4 Race in Monza can be found here.

Looks great but will the average person be able to afford it or will this just be another toy for the mega rich?

Amidst the ever-tightening of safety and emissions regulations, it is still refreshing to see the lightweight, open wheel, open cockpit, car market continue to thrive. Vehicles like the Ariel Atom, Caterham, Caparo T1, and the X-Bow are incredibly designed pakcages that offer a most thrilling driving experience. If this car ever becomes legal for ownership here in Canada (since we have some of the highest government crash safety standards) I hope one will be able to find a home in my garage.
