For those who follow the automotive industry like your life depended on it may remember a very blurry photo of a mysterious Corvette looking concep on the set of the next installment of Transformers. Now we have a full on photo showing the model in its full glory, yet we are no closer to confirming it true identity.

What we do know is that it is likely to have a starring role in Transformers: Rise of the Fallen alongside some familiar characters including the updated Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. A host of new models are set to be showcased at some point in the film, just check out that third image which features a couple of Chevrolet Beats and the brand new Kia Soul. It is also thought the Hummer HX concept will make an appearance as well.

Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will reprise their roles as Sam Whitwicky and Michaela Banes in the Transformers sequel which will be released worldwide next summer.

That Corvette looks amazing!! But the other two cars are only GM cars. The one mentioned as no Kia Soul. Actually is the Chevrolet Trax, along with the Beat. The only one missing from the trio, is the Chevy Groove.

Megan and that awesome 'Vette will be there to make us drool (and sell seats), the other vehicles (including those three-wheelers!) will show us Americans that there ARE cool, fuel-efficient vehicles out there for us, too. The MARKETING FOLKS are the ones who need to convince themselves that they CAN market these vehicles to us Americans. "Transformers 2" may be a great way to break the ice.

I recently went to a classic car show where hundreds of models were present. The stingrays were far and away the nastiest looking cars there. If they build this one, the stingray will finally have competition.
