Porsche Cayman S Sport On the Way in the UK?

According to CarTribe.co.uk, Porsche is planning a special Cayman S Sport version intended to celebrate Porsche's 60th anniversary while also attempting to boost last Cayman sales prior to the arrival of the facelifted Cayman.

The Cayman S Sport will most likely receive a package similar to last years Porsche Boxster S Sport Edition in the UK, with sports chrono pack, upgraded brakes and beefier suspension plus a GT3 inspired two-tone color scheme with matching wheels plus a few extra horses under the hood. CarTribe.co.uk states the price will be a few thousand more at about £47k in the UK.

The only part we find doubtful are the highly revered RS graphics being used on a minor trim package special edition. If Porsche does make such a move, they will certainly get an earfull from RS owners.

Wow, the U.K. sure is lucky. The decals are tasteful and nice...but they don't go as its actually a Cayman S sport. So they should drop the R and leave it as is. Also that way Carerra RS owners don't really mind either, decals being different and such.

Damn that looks hot! Strange they rendered the 'pre-facelift' model instead.

Thats because its supposed to boost the sales of the current Cayman before the facelift.

So if this isn't offical yet, the facelifted Cayman isn't coming very soon.

why would they get an earful from RS owners? they would probably buy a Cayman RS if it were available.

Thats what i would think. A carerra GT3 RS is more than just better suspension and a few extra horsepower. So they'ld still have a reason for owning a GT3 RS.

Needs the GT3 powerplant to get me interested. Cayman chassis is crying out for more power.
