NICE Reveals MyCar Model Ahead of London Unveiling
Set to make its public debut tomorrow at the British Motor Show in London, NICE's all-electric city car named, MyCar, will be on sale this Autumn in the UK. Starting from £8,995, MyCar is designed by Giugiaro of Italdesign, built in Hong Kong and comes with a two-year warranty.
With technical details to be released tomorrow with its official unveiling, NICE does state the running costs are very low, roughly one fifteenth compared to a conventional petrol or diesel model. Depending on electricity tariff used to charge the vehicle, owners will pay around 2p per mile.
MyCar is road tax free, congestion charge exempt and parking concessions are available in many London boroughs and in other parts of the UK.
MyCar has a range of around 40 miles in normal city driving, easily sufficient for the majority of urban motoring. Top speed is 40 mph with re-charge time between six and eight hours.
MyCar is available in seven colours in addition to some interesting options such as a glass roof or removable fiberglass version, leather interior, cooled seats and boot rack. But the most interesting is a forward-folding passenger seat complete with laptop dock.
ROFL ... and agree with you Tuner ... it would be a much NICER looking NICE without the roll cage roof from a quad bike
i am with both of you this is one hell of an ugly car... plus the rims dont really suite
It all depends where you live , in the countryside it wouldnt make much sense but if you lived in a place like london , then it doesnt have any road tax or congestion charges due to no emissions it makes alot of sense , either that or just walk .
I live in London. If you watched top Gear last night, you'll know there are alot of these kinda cars around in the city, like the G-wiz. I don't see them much in the town areas of London though.
Top Gear was on TV tonight in Australia ... but we're only up to Series Ten episode #8 ... where the Hampster did two laps in the F1 Renault R25 ... and Jeremy was enjoying an Aussie HSV V8 (read Vauxhall VXR8 in UK) which is the antipodean opposite to the NICE clean electric micro car but a whole lot more fun to drive.
Electric micro cars for city use are sure to become more and more popular as fuel prices continue to skyrocket but let me add ... this NICE doesn't look too SMART in comparison to the electric SMART which does look quite NICE :-)
hmm, if I had the ability to buy one of these small electric cars, the subaru r1e would top my list. That 15 minutes to 80% is sure appealing... not to mention its 53hp and 65mph top speed.
Not bad, Be nice competition for the smart car. This model actual reminds me of a car that you'd go to the beach with.
And leave it there.
40 Miles? I know people who walk more than that a day...

Well, it doesn't look very NICE.
Sorry, I had to say that.
