The new 2008 SEAT is now showing its sporting ambitions with the unveiling of a SportCoupe version at the British International Motor Show. Styling has been enhanced to go with the flow of sportiness, with colour-coding evident on the body as well as detailing on the dash, door panels, steering wheel and air vents between the steering wheel and the door. The car is obviously closely related to the Bocanegra concept we saw at Geneva.
A choice of exclusive colours, Furia Grey, Lumina Orange, Galia Blue and Limette Green can be seen. We don’t have the performance specs of the SportCoupe yet but are expecting them in the next few hours. As soon as we do, you’ll be next to know. One thing for sure, a Cupra version in this body style will be most accepted!
Ambitious Spanish car maker SEAT is once again putting its weight fully behind the British International Motor Show with a thrilling world debut. The car guaranteed to turn heads at ExCeL is the stylish new Ibiza SportCoupé, which goes on sale here on 1st October.
The Martorell motor maker’s star of the London show, unveiled by SEAT S. A. President Mr Erich Schmitt on the SEAT stand at 11:00am on Tuesday 22nd July, is an even more sporty addition to the all-new SEAT Ibiza line-up.
The show car is, once again, the work of SEAT Design Director Luc Donckerwolke who, along with Mr Schmitt and other members of the SEAT S. A. executive committee, has made the trip from Martorell to attend the British Motor Show Press Day for the unveiling.
Finished in an eye-catching Lumina Orange hue, the production vehicle unveiled at ExCeL is very clearly derived from the stunning Bocanegra concept car that was so widely admired at the Geneva Motor Show back in March.
Lumina Orange is, incidentally, one of four new and exclusive colour options that will be available to SportCoupé buyers. The others are Galia Blue, Limette Green and Furia Grey. The show car also features a spectacular black roof, which ensures it draws even more attention.
In true SEAT tradition the SportCoupé (SC) boasts some extra-special show touches inside, with a one-off interior styling pack that hints at the kind of customisation SEAT plans to make available to Ibiza SportCoupé buyers over the coming months.
Thus, the car on display at ExCeL includes unique body-colour detailing on the steering wheel, gearknob, door panels, ventilation nozzles, dashboard softpad and the area surrounding the air vent located between the steering wheel and the door.
The Ibiza SC on show also features attractive, sporty seats upholstered in a combination of leather and black Alcántara with double orange stitching – another one-off feature.
Full details of the forthcoming Ibiza SportCoupé line-up here in the UK, along with precise pricing information, will be available from today.

I'll say the scirocco and Brera are coupes, but this is DEFINATELY a hatchback. the 5 door doesn't look very nice either. I'm guessing this car is aimed at women drivers like the predessor(s).
