“How do we increase the word ‘car’” is the question asked at the ABT when they first laid eyes on the Audi RS6. For Christian Abt and the team the answer was simple enough: ‘car’ becomes ‘fast car’ when made better. And fast car is the ABT RS6. Audi RS6 is already a fast car but that really isn’t enough in these days of more and more is it? In that vein ABT has created something of a super-combi without going bananas in the styling department. The car seems to place function over form, like the wing which is not just for show but actually serves to reduce lift. Twenty inches of bling wheel don the tyres, suspension is lower and the front spoiler is different as well. Apart from this, very little else sets it apart. Apart from the fast lane.

Here ABT RS6 will reach a sweet 320km/h which it would have attained from a standstill position, going past 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds. How quick is the regular RS6? Try 4.5 seconds from naught to 100. Serving up this grateful supply of speed to ABT RS6 is the same V10 TFSI lab experiment of some 580 bhp/ 426kW standard. ABT turns it into a nuclear experiment to sustain a smile-inducing 700 bhp/ 515kW and 800Nm, from 2400 rpm right up to 6100rpm. The car then becomes more than just an outstanding athlete, but a runner of exceptional skill pulling on all four wheels.

Nobody will buy this!

You are joking right? ... every car nut on the planet would buy it in a heart beat if we could spare the cash without upsetting our accountants.

you reslly think car nuts want estates? rather have a gallardo for the same price and not be uncool

by michelin901 | August 18, 2008 9:20 PM
Its for those who dont want "hey look at me" written all over their car

by kevoluetion | August 19, 2008 2:38 PM
a new gallardo costs about 80k more. the RS6 is as expensive as a R8, the tuning kit costs additional 7 grand. This ABT RS6 is almost as fast as a 997 turbo, as fast as the old gallardo and the F430

gallardo is not very practical for a family guy. Estate is just perfect, drop the kids off at school, get on autobahn and slam the gas pedal..

first mtm now abt...next is, uhhmmm...uhhhmm. let's see there's mtm, abt. what other vw/audi tuners are. i don't really remember now. but ive got the feeling they will all tune the rs6..pretty much to the same power. till now, i prefer the mtm rs6. looks nicer. and they claim with 656 bhp it wil do 3.9s from 0 - 60 mph. and why are abt so lazy to give any details about the modifications?

..why do you need a 700 hp estate?, if i have the money, i will take an audi a4 to drive the kids, and keep the rs6 sedan in the garage for autobahn

by phobos | August 19, 2008 8:49 AM
that doesn't make sense. RS6 is both worlds in one car.

totally nonesense tuning...700HP wagon with sky rocketed price doesnt make me feel good to drive it around town everyday..get a true sporty car like GT-R,R8,M3,..how about Benzo C63 AMG to drop kid at school and F**k somebody up on highway.?? still kool as hell eh?

700HP Estate/Wagon for the very well-off Family man. He can carry all kids, doesn't lose too much of a good handling to mention very fast ride.

It is low key... and that is the purpose. No show off would go for it, only the people with a sophisticated image that doesn't want to tell the world who they are.

Well put Lebadboi... Inconspicuous, low-key, sleeper just plain old STALTH is the name of the game. That's the way I like to play it.
