Following the recent additions of the Fiat and Aston Martin brands to its catalog, Hamann Motorsports is also adding the Mercedes SLR McLaren to its repertoire which already includes BMW, MINI, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Land Rover.

Seen in these spy photos taken last week, the SLR project has yet to be announced by Hamann, but clearly we can see it will be called Volcano. Stand out features which catch our eye are the two-tone paint scheme, tripple-pipe exhaust, roof air scoop, rear bumper diffuser, deep-dish 3-piece Hamann wheels, rear wheel arch flares, smoked tail light lens and large rear wing

With the Volcano, Hamann joins a handful of SLR tuners such as RENNtech, Mansory and Brabus who offer a full tuning suite of products. We suspect official details will be released in the coming weeks.

Is this a tunning ???? As a tunner I respect HAMANN , But MERCEDES is not suitable for this Tunner... It can be used like a holloween car...

Why a roof scoop on a front engined car? Is there more pointlessness on this car? Surely someone would have to be deranged somehow to buy a product of the hard work of McLaren and then trash it with tacky addenda like this.

Minus the side exhausts, roof scoop, paint job and including rims, it's a nice car! I don't like this one. I hope the engine hasn't had the same treatment! I wonder how many others would prefer the stock car over the Hamann...

it sure belongs in a volcano. Horrible. Like a three yearold would have played need for speed

i wonder if its worth these tuning companies time and effort, not to mention money, to create a product that will sell so little. I mean the SLR is already a rare car, how many people will want this kit? I cant see sales creeping into double figures.

by joelynn | October 13, 2008 2:48 PM
this looks quite ridiculous. i like it, but they did such a great job with the original that this is pointless.

by cyclist848 | October 13, 2008 2:51 PM
hex pipes? i'm undecided on whether that's pointless or just plain cool...

Paint looks like prototype camo.

Why destroy such great cars?

by Merc-Benz | October 13, 2008 7:24 PM
that is some police color scheme in some countries.

by M! | October 13, 2008 8:12 PM
yes. though I somehow doubt that this "Volcano" is meant for Police use.. hah, kidding.. then again, it's true that the German Police has some tuned 911's and CLS's as patrol cars.. hummmmm

its cool, now if only hamman goes by the 740 bhp renntech version, lets say around 800 bhp, its gonna be the best. :)
